3 changes for vastly improved health

Everyone wishes that they were healthier, but it is one thing to wish for it and quite another to actually make it happen. If you are keen on ensuring that your health is much better attended to, then you might want to think about approaching the issue from as many angles as possible. It is really only possible to improve your health if you are happy to take this kind of holistic approach.

You can’t outrun a bad diet!  There’s no point in eating whatever you like and stuffing your body full of rubbish then exercising.  Firstly your body is not going to be fuelled properly for exercise and secondly it does not matter how much exercise you do, if you are overloading on sugar and junk foods then you are putting your body and health in jeopardy, not matter if you are still slim.  That’s just an example of why you need to ensure you are healthy in all aspects of your life.

You may also have heard the phrase TOFI?  Thin outside, fat inside.  It’s very dangerous to carry too much visceral fat, so even if you are thin with a huge metabolism and can eat whatever you like, it’s still not advised.  You are still making your body unwell on the inside!

By wanting to be healthy, you need to be healthy on the inside and outside.  Oh, and also in the mind!  Healthy body, mind and soul.

In this article, we are going to take a look at just a few changes which you might want to make to ensure that your health is in the best possible state. Follow these, and you will be in a much better position with your health in no time.  Read more of my blog posts for plenty more healthy tips and advice.

Break addictive cycles

The truth is that everyone has some kind of dependency or addiction, and it is in your power to try and break that if you want to. Doing so is likely to help keep you in much greater shape, and is likely to help improve your health on the whole as well. In some cases, the addiction may be something severe which affects your health greatly in the long term. If you have an alcohol addiction, for instance, you will find it hugely important to make sure that you beat it, but it will also be much more difficult than with many other kinds of addictions. With the help of an ANA Treatment Centre you should be able to make some progress, but be prepared for a long journey. Breaking your addictive cycles will lead to vast improvements in mind and body.

Take up meditation

There has been a real increase in the understanding and utilisation of meditation in the West in recent years, and there are many good reasons why they should be the case. For most people, learning to meditate brings with it a number of powerful benefits, chief amongst them being the dissolution of stress, or at least the reduction of it. If you can manage to take up a daily meditation practice, you will find that you can see your stress gradually dissolve away. What’s more, your body will also be able to heal itself more quickly and effectively as your immune system is booted. There are so many benefits to meditation that it is definitely worth taking it up as soon as you can.

Practice sports

Taking up a sport does much more for you than just giving your body exercise – although that is clearly an important and huge benefit.  It is also a great opportunity to meet with other people and make social connections, which is great for your mental health.  Your fitness levels and stamina will increase, blood flow and heart health will be improved and you will be able to maintain a healthy weight or lose weight if you are overweight.  It also makes you feel great!  Regular exercise boosts your mood and can even improve sleep.  There’s nothing quite like it and although it can be hard to get started, it’s totally worth it and the benefits are clear to see.
