For the past week I have been testing Synerva 15% CBD Oil and Synerva CBD Massage Oil for review. I was kindly sent these products by Synerva CBD Oils for the purpose of this review.
Synerva Muscle Recovery CBD Massage Oil review
Whilst CBD oil as an oral supplement is very familiar to me as I have been taking it daily to relieve symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression since October 2019, I hadn’t yet tried any other products containing CBD oil such as beauty products or massage oil.
I knew of CBD beauty products existence, but with a very minimal beauty routine I hadn’t needed to purchase anything.
What I hadn’t yet stumbled upon was a massage oil containing CBD and was keen to try one when Synerva CBD Oils kindly offered me the chance.
Synerva offer three types of massage oil:
- Muscle Recovery
All three sound great and it was a tough choice, but as we are currently transforming our garden and have been spending hours daily painting and digging, the muscle recovery balm sounded perfect, and even much needed!
It was also the perfect excuse to *have* to give each other a massage as I needed to test out the oil!
Ben, my husband, has been working so hard in the garden laying a huge new patio, replacing nearly all our fence panels, adding two areas of decking, a new garden path, building raised vegetable patches and more.
We have a large garden and it’s been a six year wait since we bought our house to be able to totally modernise and perfect the garden to our standards.
Thankfully we had ordered almost all the materials early this year, before any sign of a lockdown, and they arrived staggered during the coronavirus lockdown.
This has kept us super busy between home schooling and me trying to work full-time at home.
Whilst I’ve helped where possible with painting, decorating, cleaning, lugging sand from the driveway to the garden and even helping with the grouting, Ben has worked tirelessly most days to get our garden complete and undertaken the most laborious tasks.
This has meant days of sore muscles and feeling broken by bedtime as it’s very manual labour!
To be honest, this muscle recovery massage oil couldn’t have come at a better time!
Synerva Muscle Recovery Massage Oil contains 300mg CBD oil and doTERRA DEEP BLUE Essential Oil Blend.
It has a minty menthol smell which is refreshing and cooling – just what our muscles need after a day of intense gardening and landscaping!
The doTerra blend contains wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, ylang ylang, helichrysum, blue tansy, blue chamomile and osmanthus. This blend aims to soothe, comfort and rejuvenate hard worked muscles to release tension and relax.
The CBD oil contains the full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes which work together when applied topically to relieve pain, soreness and inflammation. Terpenes can help to increase the absorption of the cannabinoids.
The oil certainly soothed our sore muscles after a strenuous day in the garden and the CBD worked its magic in relaxing any tension and pain. I definitely slept a lot better after my back massage!
I really like the minty smell and it’s even relaxing and soothing to be the massage giver! The oil is so soft and nourishing on the skin and hands. The massage oil has some great benefits for the skin too.
The benefits of applying CBD oil topically
Whilst most of us are familiar with taking CBD orally for its health benefits, it also has many benefits when taken topically. Once absorbed by the skin, the CBD oil activates the same endocannabinoid receptors in our bodies as it does when taken orally. Therefore it offers the same health benefits.
Here are some of the benefits of applying CBD oil topically:
- Free of toxins
- All-natural product
- No known side effects
- Instant relief
Also, as it’s an oil, a little goes a long way! We were able to use a small amount to give a really thorough and reasonably long back and shoulder massage, so I’m sure this bottle will last us for ages.
Synerva 15% CBD Oil review
As well as the massage oil which was very gratefully received, I was also sent Synerva 15% CBD Oil Drops.
As you may know, I’ve been taking CBD oil for seven months now in an attempt to curb my seasonal affective disorder in the 2019/20 winter period. SAD leaves me in a deeply depressive state during the middle and end winter months with higher stress levels and anxiety.
My SAD had been getting worse as years went on and after trying to supplement with vitamin D, which failed, I needed to try something new for the winter just past.
I didn’t want to take synthetic medication which often comes with side effects and means putting unnatural substances in my body, so I was looking for a natural solution instead.
I knew CBD was helpful for those with chronic pain already and I luckily researched it more and realised it could potentially help with stress, anxiety and depression.
I’ve been taking CBD oil daily since the end of October 2019 and it has been my best winter by far! My husband noticed a massive improvement and doesn’t even remember any signs of my usual SAD surfacing at all. A stark contrast to the previous winters we have spent together where my mental health has really suffered, putting a strain on him too.
The only difference in my lifestyle has been taking the CBD oil every single day. So it is CBD that we are crediting for the noticeable difference in my mental health over winter.
I am continuing to take it every day to reap its many health benefits throughout the entire year. It’s now an habitual part of my daily supplement routine.
Taking Synerva 15% CBD Oil Drops
The drops I tried from Synerva are 15% which is quite a high strength. When I started taking CBD I took 5% drops and I’d recommend 5% or lower if you are just starting out. This gives your body time to get used to the CBD oil and to active your body’s endocannabinoid system with which the CBD interacts to provide its many health benefits.
Everyone is different and needs different strengths, but it’s best to start out at a lower strength and then increase the strength or dosage only if you need to. It’s also important to note that it can take a few weeks for the CBD to take effect – it’s not always instant in everyone, so don’t give up if you take it and don’t instantly notice an improvement.
The Synerva drops are full spectrum which means they contain a range of cannabinoids and not just CBD isolate. There is lots of research to suggest the cannabinoids work better together, rather than in isolation, so there are also cannabinoids such as cannabigerol (CBG) and cannabichromene (CBC) in the drops which offer even more benefits than CBD alone.
The drops come in a tincture with a dropper. I find the dropper the best way to take CBD from a tincture. I’ve tried a sprayer previously, but found it leaked and made a mess! Luckily the Synerva drops have a dropper for easy application.
The Synerva drops have the earthy and yet bitter CBD taste that I have grown used to over my many months of taking CBD orally. If you are new then you might be a little shocked at the taste, but you definitely get used to it! If you’re used to earthy flavours and herbal tastes then it might not bother you at all.
The benefits of Synerva CBD Oils
When shopping for CBD oils, it’s important to find a high quality product that has ethical and all-natural credentials. Synerva certainly meet this with their oils which satisfy the following requirements:
- Full spectrum
- Zero THC
- Pesticide free
- Natural ingredients
- On-site laboratory testing
The massage oils and CBD oils are vegan friendly too.
Do note, the balm, capsules and gummies by Synerva are not vegan as they contain gelatine and/or beeswax. It’s always worth checking the ingredients for any CBD product you purchase to make sure it is vegan friendly.
I have been very impressed with the Synerva CBD oils and brand. The CBD drops continue to provide me with the desired health benefits I have come to expect from taking CBD orally. I am really happy to now add another CBD product in the form of massage oil to our wellbeing routine to further improve our overall health.
