4 signs you might not be as healthy as you think

Our overall health is a multi-faceted and complex affair. There are many components encapsulated by health, from physical aspects to mental and emotional ones. Additionally, our overarching sense of wellness within ourselves can play an important role in our health.

Some health issues are easy to recognise and, therefore, to treat. Others can be less obvious, however, so it is essential to keep an eye on some signs that might indicate you are not as healthy as you might think you are.

 1. Snoring

Snoring is loud, embarrassing and annoying for most people. But aside from the obvious issues that others might have if you are a loud snorer, it could indicate some underlying health problems.

Snoring can indicate a litany of underlying issues, including sleep apnoea, being overweight, cardiovascular disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or a higher likelihood of having a stroke. Some of these conditions could potentially be very serious, so medical professionals suggest you should talk to a doctor if you have a snoring habit.

 2. Fatigue

It is common for many people to feel exhausted in their day-to-day lives, but the reasons for this are often overlooked. While tiredness is more often than not a symptom of not getting enough sleep or consuming too much caffeine, fatigue could also indicate more severe problems.

Of course, if you are aware that you are not sleeping enough, you should change your sleeping habits to improve your energy levels. However, if this doesn’t solve the issue, you might be dehydrated, anaemic, excessively sedentary or have a diet too high in sugar.

All of these are signs that you might not be as healthy as you could be. Therefore, look to rectify potential dietary issues, and if the problem persists, consult with a doctor for a private medical examination in London.

 3. Skin problems

If you suffer from regular spot breakouts, it could be a sign that you are not as healthy as you could be. While there isn’t one specific cause of acne and breakouts, paying attention to our skin can help us know when something needs to change.

Although skin problems can be caused by genetic factors or bacterial infections, it can often be worth altering habits like diet, exercise or sleeping patterns to assess whether your breakouts are caused by an unhealthy lifestyle.

 4. Eye discolouration

The tissue in your eyes that surrounds the iris should be white in colour. If your eyes have a yellow hue, then it can indicate issues with several of your vital organs. For example, your pancreas, liver, gallbladder and bile ducts can all cause a yellow tint to the whites of your eyes if they are unhealthy.

Additionally, if your eyes are red, you may not get enough sleep or have broken blood vessels in your eyeballs.

 Summary

In conclusion, the problems listed above can easily be overlooked but could be signs of more severe underlying health issues. Therefore, if you suffer from these issues and changes to your lifestyle don’t improve them, consult with a medical professional.
